Our history
QTA – Serviços de Gestão Ambiental, S.A. (named Quimitécnica Ambiente 3, S.A. until December 2018) has its origins in the pioneering QUIMITÉCNICA AMBIENTE, S.A., a company of the CUF/QUIMIGAL group. It was the first company in Portugal to manage and treat industrial waste, and held the country's first licensed facilities for hazardous-waste treatment.
The wider corporate group also includes Eco-Oil, S.A., which specialises in the treatment and recovery of oily waste, with industrial facilities at Mitrena, Setúbal.
QTA began operating in October 2009, when the water-treatment facilities management business of QUIMITÉCNICA AMBIENTE became autonomous. It provides a diverse range of consulting, technical assistance, auditing, feasibility studies, design, installation and management of WWTPs, as well as monitoring, operation and staff training.
Headquartered at the Barreiro Business Park, QTA operates across the whole country, almost exclusively in industrial sectors — industrial liquid effluents and industrial water networks — in partnership with major national companies.
